Abbey Tower closed

We’re sorry to say that due to the Coronavirus outbreak, KILWINNING ABBEY TOWER and HERITAGE CENTRE will not open as planned at Easter this year. Kilwinning Heritage has also postponed our planned talk in April. We know that our amazing volunteers and supporters will be disappointed, however we will continue to monitor the situation and follow advice from the NHS and the Government. Temp closed

New book launched

A new book has been launched about James Blair and the clock and watchmakers of Kilwinning. The history of clockmaking in the town spans 300 years and has been researched by Heather Upfield revealing some surprising results. Timepiece tells the story of town clocks, town bells, and beautiful longcase clocks which have survived until today. Priced only £3,  Timepiece  will be on sale at Kilwinning Library and the Abbey Tower. It is also available to buy online here.
